My album ‘Distractions’ is out today!
“Distractions” is a word that felt immediately right for this album.
All the songs featured on it were made bit by bit, in the evenings after work, on weekends etc, so in a way in between life and its “distractions”.
I feel that distractions take way too much space in my life (first of all, well of course, checking my phone). This record is dedicated to all those interstitial moments you finally focus and do what you love doing; in my case: making music and possibly not looking at a screen.
I like to say that this record is “un-produced” by me.
By some people, music can be considered a background for something else, but for me it just has to be at times disturbing and even not perfect, basically just something that moves you. My “good” kind of distraction.
Forever grateful to
Pietro Vicentinio who played drums on most of the tracks, and for being always amazing at translating my beatboxing imitations into real grooves, bringing magic.
Mattia Tavani who recorded and engineered it and helped in every part of the process with such patience and care.
Pietro Cavassa who mixed it and did all the final touches, and made every step towards finishing what I started look so much easier and fun.
Chiara Ferracuti who spent a whole day with me recording some insane synths and some vocals for what later became ‘Air Drum I’ and ‘Air Drum II’.
Nick Powell for the masters.
Contento 360 for the crazy cover/s.
Factory Flaws for releasing it.
Grazie to those people who gave me any feedback at some point, checked in, or heard this record while it was still just a few demos in progress. Maybe you didn’t even notice, but you were there when I needed a second pair of ears and some confidence in myself too.
And last but not least, to my family and to the friends that are always there… well, you deal with the whole package… I love you and you know who you are.
xx
